Tuesday UCL Bet Tips

UCL-Tuesday-Mid-Week-Betting-Tips-min

The final matchday of the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League campaign is finally here. In some of the groups, such as Group C, the standings will remain unchanged regardless of tomorrow’s result.

Other groups, meanwhile, such as Tottenham’s Group D, are finely poised: the team currently in last place can qualify as the group winner while the team currently in first place could still finish last.

This will make betting on today’s games trickier since some games will be played at exhibition pace while others will be played with the intensity appropriate for a football match with a place in the UCL knockout rounds and tens of millions of pounds in prize money at stake.

Luckily for you, we have taken the time to preview all eight matches. Read on for our betting tips below!

Group A (Liverpool vs Napoli & Rangers vs Ajax)

Rangers vs Liverpool summary: Salah scores quickest UCL hat-trick, score, goals and highlights, 2022/23 Champions League - AS USA

Despite their underwhelming Premier League form, Liverpool have come alive under the bright lights of the UEFA Champions League this season. Except for their matchday 1 loss to Napoli when they shockingly let in four goals, they’ve conceded just twice in four games.

Tomorrow, their aim will be to leapfrog Napoli into first place in hopes of securing an easier round of 16 opponent. It won’t be easy, though. Napoli fully merit their place at the top of Group A and have arguably been the best club side in Europe. The Italians might be tempted to rest some players for this one since they need just a draw to finish in first place. Don’t expect that to make too much of a difference, however: the Neapolitan side has one of the best squads in the UCL this season and will back themselves to win, even at Anfield.

Our Liverpool vs Napoli picks: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.53, Napoli to win/draw @ 1.95, both teams to score @ 1.48

Ajax easily won the reverse fixture at the Johan Cruyff arena in September and ordinarily, we would have backed them to win here again without reservations. We can see Ajax choosing to rest some of their star players here, however, safe in the knowledge that this Rangers side could not possibly muster up 4 goals against them.

Rangers, on the other hand, will be playing for pride and desperate to notch at least a point before dropping out of European football for the season. Back them to score here for just the second time in Group A.

Our Rangers vs Ajax picks: Both teams to score @ 1.48, Ajax to win/draw + over 1.5 goals @ 1.50, Away team to win either half @ 1.45.

Group B (Leverkusen vs Club Brugge & FC Porto vs Atletico Madrid)

Champions League draw: Group B teams, odds, picks, predictions for 2022-23 competition - DraftKings Nation

The clubs progressing to the next round of the UCL in Group B have already been confirmed, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to fight for.

Both Leverkusen and Club Brugge have something to fight for, so this match will be approached with the utmost seriousness by both teams. Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen side still has a chance to qualify for the UEL with a win tomorrow and will be at their best to not drop out of European football completely.

Club Brugge have been the surprise package of Group B and will be pushing for a win as well, to ensure that the pursuing Porto does not come from behind to seize the first spot at the death.

Our Bayer Leverkusen vs Club Brugge picks: Both teams to score @ 1.53, Over 1.5 Club Brugge goals @ 2.85, Over 7.5 corners @ 1.24

Atletico Madrid has been one of the biggest disappointments in the UCL this season, and their late penalty miss last week not only means that they’re out of the Champions League, but they could even drop out of Europe completely if they fail to beat Porto tomorrow.

The home side has been the other big surprise in Group B, winning 3 of their five games so far to lie in second place. If they can win at home today and Club Brugge drops points away at Leverkusen, they’ll win the group, it’s that simple.

Our FC Porto vs Atletico Madrid picks: Both teams to score @ 1.75, Anybody to win @ 1.30, Under 3.5 goals @ 1.30

Group C (Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan & Viktoria Plzen vs Barcelona)

Sadio Mane calls Bayern Munich transfer the 'best decision' of his careerAnd finally, our mini exhibitions. No matter what the scorelines of these games are, nothing changes in this group, which makes it that little bit more challenging to predict.

Bayern Munich have already qualified and will take the chance to rest some legs and give some fringe players a run out. Expect to see players like Kingsley Coman, Marcel Sabitzer and Ryan Gravenberch all get starts while Sadio Mane and Joshua Kimmich and other first choice players get deserved rests. This doesn’t mean they’ll take the game easy and look to just stroll about the park against Inter, this is still Bayern, and they will want to win this one.

Inter will also rest players like Lautaro Martinez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Expect to see Romelu Lukaku get some more minutes in this game, however. The Belgian forward has already scored on his return against Plzen and will be eager to test himself against an elite club again.

Our Bayern vs Inter picks: Both teams to score @ 1.52, Inter to win with a 0:2 handicap @ 1.68, over 8.5 corners @ 1.40

Barcelona has been the biggest disappointment in the UCL this year. After activating several economic levers to overhaul their squad, they’ve been dumped out of the UCL at the very first hurdle. Expected a changed side against Plzen that will still end up dominating a home side that has already conceded an xG of 12.8, the worst in the competition so far.

Our Plzen vs Barcelona picks: Barcelona to win @ 1.30, over 2.5 goals @ 1.44, over 6.5 away corners @ 1.93

Group D (Olympique Marseille vs Tottenham & Sporting CP vs Eintracht Frankfurt)

England facing Harry Kane dilemma after Champions League Final - Mirror Online

With just two points between first and fourth, every team in Group D has everything to gain… and lose on the last matchday.

If Tottenham somehow don’t qualify for the round of 16, their fans will blame the officials and VAR after being denied a late goal against Sporting last week. In reality, they have only themselves to blame for not having qualified for the next round yet despite fielding Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, two of the best players in the world.

Tomorrow, the North London side will face Marseille, who field several familiar opponents who used to play/are still contracted to Spurs biggest rivals, Arsenal. One suspects that the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac and Nuno Tavares will be eager to win, qualify for the next round and dump Spurs out of the UCL in the same breath.

Our Marseille vs Tottenham picks: Over 1.5 goals @ 1.27, both teams to score @ 1.65, and Tottenham to win/draw + over 1.5 goals @ 1.82

The foremost thought on the minds of Sporting fans would be ‘if only we’d held on to beat Tottenham”. If they had done that, they would be topping the group with nine points now and would need only a draw to qualify for the next round.

Unfortunately, they will face a Frankfurt side experienced at digging deep in high-pressure moments to win, and who want to play in the next round of the UCL as well. Sporting have already received 3 red cards in the UCL this season, they will have to be careful to not receive a fourth against Frankfurt.

Our Sporting vs Frankfurt picks: Over 1.5 goals @ 1.28, both teams to score @ 1.67 and over 7.5 goals @ 1.34
