Saturday Football Bet Tips
Football weekend betting tips & preview
You know what that sound is? It’s the long, drawn-out sigh of millions of people exhaling after a long week and anticipating a pleasant weekend of League football again.
Read on for our betting and match previews tomorrow so you can win big as you relax!
Tottenham vs Everton
In previous decades, this used to be a ‘best of the rest’ fixture as Tottenham and Everton battled each other to break into the top four fruitlessly… until Tottenham did. The last decade has seen Tottenham solidify their status in the top 4/6 while the Toffees battled for relevance futilely.
Tomorrow, the two teams will meet again with the hosts 9 places and 10 points clear of the visitors. Tottenham’s two best forwards got on the scoresheet against Frankfurt in the UCL and Tottenham fans will be hoping that Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane can once again strike up their near-telepathic understanding from last season to challenge the top two teams this season, Arsenal, and Manchester City.
Everton fans will be delighted with the fight shown by their team against Manchester United last week and will hope to see more of the same tomorrow. Alex Iwobi has pulled the strings from a new midfield position this season to good effect and his stunner from distance last weekend will have him full of confidence again. If the Nigerian midfielder can consistently feed Demarai Gray, Anthony Gordon, Neal Maupay and the returning Dominic Calvert in good positions, the visitors might be able to leave with a positive result.
Leicester vs C Palace
As it stands, it’s a matter of when, not if, Brendan Rodgers will be sacked by Leicester City. Six years on from their miraculous English Premier League title-winning season, the Foxes are propping up the entire Premier League. And what’s even crazier, that’s where they belong, based on how they’ve played.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have played well at times this season and yet, still find themselves just three points above the relegation zone. Patrick Vieira will be very cross if his side drops any points away to a dispirited Leicester side, especially when Wilfred Zaha is a matchup nightmare for almost any team in the League.
Torino vs Juventus (Derby)
Watching Juventus play this season, the ‘Old Lady’ nickname actually starts to make sense. After splashing the cash on several stars this summer, including Paul Pogba, Angel di Maria, Leandro Paredes and Gleison Bremer among others, Juventus fans must have hoped for a Scudetto challenge. Instead, their team sits in 8th place and recently lost to Maccabi Haifa, of all teams.
Torino, meanwhile, will feel that they have a chance to nick a win here after winning just once in the last 22 games against their city rivals. It used to be foolhardy to bet against Juventus, especially in a derby game, but it now looks foolish to bet on the visitors.
Watford vs Norwich
Of the two former Premier League clubs, Norwich looks the more ready to make a quick return back to the English Premier League. Sitting in 2nd spot on the Championship table and level on points with first-placed Sheffield United, the Canaries are primed to make the quick flight back up a division if they keep up this form.
The home team are in terrible form and have lost three of their last five games, drawing once and winning just once. Over that stretch, they conceded 9 goals and scored 9 goals as well. A loss here would be detrimental to their hopes of a quick return to the Premier League’s riches.
This is a high-scoring fixture, with over 2.5 goals scored in 9 out of the last 145 H2H fixtures between these two teams so be sure to load up on the ‘goals’ bet section.
Athletic Club vs Atletico Madrid
The battle at the top of the La Liga table hots up this weekend as 1st and 2nd as well as 3rd and 4th face off. Before the El Clasico will take place, however, we have Athletic Bilbao vs Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
The away team has been underwhelming this season, Diego Simeone will hope to change that tomorrow with a win that will bring them closer to one of the top dogs of the division when one (or both!) of them drops points on Sunday.
As usual, Bilbao’s danger men will be the Williams brothers. Unlike previous seasons, Nico Williams, the younger brother, is likely to be Bilbao’s main threat with his 3 goals and 2 assists this season already. Alvaro Morata has been Atleti’s main threat with 4 goals and zero assists but is not expected to start at the San Mames tomorrow.
