PSG News: Mbappe’s Future and the Club’s New Manager
In a hammer blow to Los Blancos, Kylian Mbappe renewed his contract with Paris Saint-Germain for another three years. He will now play with the French club until the 30th of June 2025, which came as a surprise to many as Mbappe transfer news had been making the rounds since last month, with the international striker being linked to a move with Real Madrid.
Since joining PSG FC in 2017, the Frenchman has earned a reputation for being one of the best finishers across the globe, scoring 171 goals for the club. He has 5 French titles to his name and has won the 2018 World Cup’s best young player award.
With the extension of his contract, the superstar will likely have a more dominant role in the club’s decisions. He has asserted his confidence in PSG’s future as they strive towards European glory. He also seems to have his eye on breaking PSG’s best-scoring record of 200 goals achieved by Edinson Cavani between 2013 and 2020.
According to latest Mbappe news, his top-most goal now is to lead Paris Saint-Germain to their first Champions League win. And he plans to do that by making the team more “intimidating” in France before conquering Europe.
In other PSG news, the club is reportedly in talks with French Ligue 1 coach Christophe Galtier to replace Mauricio Pochettino, who failed to bring home the European trophy. Nothing will be announced until Pochettino’s exit terms are finalized but the two parties seem close to reaching an agreement.
Although the appointment has not been confirmed yet, Galtier has already resigned from his current role to prepare for the mammoth task of leading the star-studded Paris Saint-Germain. The 55-year-old is best known for leading Lille to an astounding Ligue 1 title victory and guiding Nice to an impressive performance last season.
With PSG FC set to resume training next week, fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement to confirm the Frenchman as the head coach.
