PSG Vs Real Madrid | UEFA Champions League Match Preview & Betting Predictions

The Champions League resumes today with a huge match between PSG and Real Madrid. It’s a chance for fans of the beautiful game to see two of Europe’s biggest battle it out once more as a member of the old guard is challenged by one of the new money elite.

As with any other game of this magnitude, there are plenty of juicy subplots: Sergio Ramos vs. his old club who decided he was past it, Angel di Maria vs. the club who sold him off to make room for bigger stars, Lionel Messi vs. the Madrid team he tormented for so long, Mbappe vs. the side he’s most likely to play for next season, and Achraf Hakimi vs his boyhood team.

Read on for our H2H analysis, team news, betting odds and match prediction!

PSG Vs Real Madrid Head-to-Head Record
Real Madrid has dominated this fixture with 5 wins in 9 games while PSG has won twice and both sides have drawn twice.

In their last five H2H fixtures, both sides have an identical record with two wins each and one draw.

PSG and Real Madrid lead their respective leagues with 59 and 54 points, respectively, though the Parisians have a 13-point advantage over the second-place team in Ligue 1 compared to Madrid’s 4-point advantage in La Liga.

This means that PSG can afford to rest their more important players ahead of the 2nd leg in case things get dicey as they have a comfortable cushion in their domestic league.

Form Guide
PSG comes into this game with four wins and a loss in their last five games (Form: W-W-L-W-W)

Madrid, on the other hand, have stumbled in recent weeks with a record of two wins, two draws and a loss in their last five games. (Form: D-W-L-D-W)

PSG Vs Real Madrid News
Neymar was involved in PSG’s last recent training session, so he should be fit enough to play against Madrid. Mbappe and Messi are also fit and will give Pochettino the ability to call upon his potent star trio in attack.

Further back, Idrissa Gueye and Achraf Hakimi should play as well, after returning from their AFCON exploits. Sergio Ramos, Layvin Kurzawa and Ander Herrera are likely to miss this game, however.

For Madrid, Karim Benzema was fit enough to take part in training yesterday and is part of the matchday squad as well as Ferland Mendy.

Brazilian forward, Vinicius Junior will line up alongside the French striker and either Rodrygo or Asensio in attack while Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are expected to and try to battle Veratti for domination of the midfield zone.

PSG Vs Real Madrid Prediction
This season, Real Madrid have made it clear that they’re still a force to be reckoned with, even as they try to overhaul their ageing squad.

The ultimate goal for PSG is to one day have a similar pedigree to the Spanish giants. But, in order to get there, they must first win one UCL trophy. This year may be their best chance yet.

However, if there was a team that was built for the UCL, it is Real Madrid. What they lack in pace and youthful agility that the PSG side has in spades, they make up for in experience and sheer winning mentality.

Fans can remember how Mario Götze had to sit out the UCL final in 2013 because of his transfer to their opponents. Will Mbappe have his head in the game, given his imminent Real Madrid transfer in the summer?

Our prediction: This is a hard one to call. We’re going with both teams to score (BTTS) at 1.52
PSG win: 2.05
Draw: 3.70
Real Madrid win: 3.50
