Inter vs AC Milan: Highlights and Match Review

The city of Milan breathed a collective sigh of relief as honors were shared between the recent edition of the Inter Milan vs AC Milan matchup in Serie A. The famous clash, which is commonly known as Derby della Madonnina among Milanese fans, did not produce a lot of goals as the final score line read 1-1. But the game was not short of drama and incredible betting opportunities.

The match saw pulsating end-to-end action as the spoils were shared between the two teams that share the same home ground. The advantage gained through the Hakan Calhanoglu penalty did not last for long; it was cancelled by Stefan de Vrij’s own goal which brought the match to a stalemate from which it didn’t change. But as foreseen by BetKing’s football betting tips and predictions, that didn’t mean there was any shortage of action and great plays as both teams went all out for three points.

The game lit up right from the start as Franck Kessie was judged to have brought down the former Milan player in the box. Calhanoglu made no mistake in scoring from the penalty and rubbed salt into the wounds of his former club by cupping his ears to the Milan supporters in a move that would come to haunt him later.

Retribution came only 6 minutes later as Inter Milan’s joy was short-lived due to an own goal. This time it was De Vrij who headed into his own net off a free kick. From then on, it was no holds-barred as the San Siro lit up in a riveting contest between the two home teams.

The Inter Milan players got another opportunity to go ahead with a second spot kick awarded when Matteo Darmian was fouled by Fode Ballo-Toure in the box. However, this time luck seemed to be on AC Milan’s side as their goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu brilliantly denied Lautaro Martinez from scoring.

The second half did not live up to the brilliance and excitement of the first half as both teams played a cagier match. There were still plenty of chances to score by each side, but nothing materialized from them as the match ended in a draw. The AC Milan squad remained unbeaten in the league but dropped a crucial chance to go top of the table, ahead of Napoli. For Inter Milan, the draw meant that they remained in third place, 7 points behind the league leaders.

Overall, the match wasn’t one for the coaches as both teams were not able to capitalize on their tactical plans. The second half was more tactical as some semblance of strategy could be seen but the level of excitement and frantic action intensity dropped as well.

However, the Inter Milan vs AC Milan match provided plenty of breathtaking action for both sets of fans, resulting in exciting chances for live/in-play betting. With plenty more Serie A betting tips available at BetKing, which team will you be placing your money on next?
