The future of Tottenham’s talisman, Harry Kane is back making rounds, as the striker has indicated his desire to leave the club. The striker will captain England in the upcoming Euros Cup.
Harry Kane broke into the Spurs’ first team from the youth academy in 2014 and has scored 217 goals in all competitions cementing his place as one of Tottenham’s greatest players. The striker still has three years remaining on his Tottenham contract as he signed a six-year deal in 2018 but he is said to be frustrated at the club’s lack of silverware and is seeking a move away from the club. He has scored 166 goals in 245 premier league appearances and sits at number 7 in the Premier League All-Time Top goal scorer’s chart.
Kane won the Premier League Golden boot this season and this makes it his third time winning the Golden Boot with Spurs however, he does not have any silverware to show for it. He has lost two League Cup finals and one Champions League Final with Spurs.
Tottenham ended this season trophyless and finished in seventh place in the league, this can be enough reason for Kane’s decision to move to another club where he can win trophies.
Tottenham coach Ryan Mason had earlier thought that Harry Kane’s future at the club will not be dependent on the team securing a Champions League spot in his response to a question asked about Kane’s future at Tottenham.
He said: “I don’t think so. Harry Kane loves this football club. That’s been proven over the last seven or eight years. He’s one of the best strikers in the world, everyone knows that we know that, and I’d like to think Harry knows that as well’’
The England striker is not short of suitors as Manchester City could be looking to sign a new striker this summer, with Sergio Aguero leaving. Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid have regularly been linked with Kane, but they would have to cough out a huge sum of money for Spurs to consider selling the striker, a fee likely to set a British transfer record. Harry Kane has hinted that he will prefer to remain in England if he leaves Tottenham. This means that either Chelsea, Man City or Manchester United will be his preferred destination and luckily, all 3 teams are said to have been in touch with Harry Kane’s representatives CK66 expressing their interest to sign the England international.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a fierce negotiator and getting the striker out of the club would not be an easy feat and Levy might also not want to sell to a premier league rival but with Kane’s recent interest, he just might not have a choice.
The striker will be turning 28 in few months and with the lack of any major silverware, it looks set to be a huge summer for the Spurs talisman and all seems to be pointing to the fact that his future lies outside of the North club.
Where do you think Harry will go?
